On Friday, April 17th, 2020 at approximately 0108 hours, Franklin Twp. Fire District #3 was dispatched to the area of 62 Ambrose Street, for a Motor Vehicle Fire with exposure issues.
Car 27 arrived, established command of the incident and reported a fully involved Motor Vehicle Fire with exposure to a second vehicle. The active MV Fire was approximately 15-20 feet from the nearby residence of 62 Ambrose Street.
Engine 253 arrived, at which time an initial attack line was stretched for fire suppression. Engine 27 arrived directly behind E-253, and assisted with a 2nd attack line and utilized a K-12 saw to gain additional access to the seat of the fire. Due to the gas vapors burning heavily around the vehicle, foam was utilized to further the extinguishment efforts. Upon arrival of Squad 27, the Squad assisted with providing additional water supply.
At after approximately 45 minutes, the fire was placed under control. Both companies helped extinguish hot spots and performed overhaul. Additional units on the scene were Car 274, Deputy 25 and Tech Rescue 257.
All units cleared at approximately 0315 hours, at which time the scene was turned over to Franklin Twp. Fire Prevention and Franklin Police Department. The Fire remains under investigation at this time.
