At 0646 hours Station 27 was automatically dispatched for a F.A.S.Team into Fire District 2 for a structure fire in an occupied dwelling. Asst. Chief Skinner Lt. Brown Engineer Ritterson Foreman Cicerale and FF Kampf responded to the scene onboard Squad 27. North Brunswick Fire Company 3s Chief Car 300 was command and North Brunswick Engine 305 was first due. Engine 305 stretched an initial 1-34 line to the front door darkening down the fire and performing primary searches. An additional 3 hose fed two 1-34 lines to facilitate attacking the fire that had spread from the first floor apartment of the townhouse to the second floor apartment and then into the cockloft. Ladder 25 arrived shortly before Squad 27 and their crew worked tirelessly in assisting Engine 305s crew with ventilation and searching for pockets of fire in the remaining units. Manpower was low and temperatures were around 13 degrees F making all fireground operations tiresome and slippery. Van 27 also responded early in the incident with Capt. Wilson and Lt. Jacobsen for manpower. Additional resources were called in from Stations 41 35 and 44 and the incident cleared up at approximately 10AM.
