366913_origEstablished on July 29, 1929 the East Franklin Fire Department has faithfully served the residents of Franklin Township Fire District 3 in Somerset, New Jersey for over 85 years. Bordering the City of New Brunswick in the southeast corner of Somerset County, East Franklin, Station 27, responds to a small but densely populated 3.5 square mile area with approximately 30,000 residents. Our mission is to respond in a safe manner to all reported emergencies in the community of Franklin Township, Somerset, N.J. to help the citizens deal with natural and man-made emergencies, and with the resources available and with the utmost regard for the safety of the members of the department, work to the best of it’s abilities to limit the loss of life, the environment, and property.

On 12/11/19 at approximately 1600 hours, East Franklin Fire Department’s Squad 27 responded to Bridgewater and provided coverage as a Rapid Intervention Team, while Finderne Fire Department operated at this prolonged incident.

Our RIT stood by for approximately 3 hours and was cleared by Fire Command once the incident was stabilized.
