On Monday December 24th, 2018 at 1622 hrs East Franklin Fire Department was requested into the borough of Highland Park, while they operated at an Apartment Fire at 82 Cedar Lane. Car 27 and Squad 27 responded on the 2nd alarm request.
Chief 27 assisted HPFD on a handline in the original fire apartment, while Squad 27 was responding as the RIC Team. Upon arrival of Squad 27, they laid in a supply line to HPFD Engine 4. The crew then was put to work in the exposure building, utilizing a handline and pulling ceilings, putting water on the fire coming through the firewall.
Engine 27 and Deputy 27 later arrived and also brought in a water supply, quickly deploying master streams to the A side of the building. Crews worked hard assisting the HPFD to keep the fire from spreading to the attic of building 80.
Great job by all units on scene of this 3-Alarm Fire on Christmas Eve, containing it to the original fire building. We wish the best to the families who were displaced due to this fire.
