On Sunday, January 12th, 2020 at approximately 2008 hours, The East Franklin Fire Department was requested Mutual Aid into the Borough of Bound Brook for the reported Structure Fire at the intersection of East Main Street and Mountain Avenue.
Car 27, Car 272, Car 274, Squad 27 and Ladder 27 responded into the Borough. The crews were tasked with multiple assignments, specifically providing coverage as the Rapid Intervention Crew and extinguishing spot fires in the immediate area. Ladder 27 eventually set up the stick and assisted with aerial operations, as crews worked vigoursly to protect the surrounding exposures. The fire eventually reached a 7th alarm, bringing in companies from multiple counties throughout New Jersey.
East Franklin swapped crews out at approximately 0630 am on Jan. 13th and all East Franklin units cleared the scene at approximately 1321 hours. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Borough of Bound Brook, the Bound Brook FD and its residents, during this difficult time as they attempt to recover from this devasatating fire.
