On Thursday August 3rd, 2017 at 11:57 a.m. Fire District #3 was dispatched to 445 Hillcrest Avenue for a reported Gas Leak coming from the basement.
Deputy Chief Banks in Car 272 arrived and established Command. Captain Daughton in Car 27 arrived directly behind him along with Squad 27. During the investigation, Captain Miller who was the Officer on Squad 27, located a smoke condition coming from the basement. The crew of Squad 27 forced entry into the basement, locating a fire in the bathroom coming from a fan.
Ladder 25 arrived shortly after this, at which time Lt. R. Pinnella and Captain Daughton pulled a 1 inch and 3/4 handline off Squad 27 to the rear of the structure. Engine 278 arrived and assisted with ventilation of the structure .The fire was extinguished and overhauled in under an hour. All units cleared the scene without incident at 12:56 p.m.
The scene was turned over to Franklin Township Fire Prevention and is curently under investigation.
