On Tuesday January 2nd, 2017 at approximately 8:43 a.m. Fire District #3 was dispatched to 386 Hamilton Street, for a report of an unknown type fire.
Car 27 (Chief Krushinski) arrived on the scene and found smoke coming out of the windows, confirming a working fire. At this time, a 2nd alarm assignment was requested which brought 1 engine and 1 truck from New Brunswick FD to the scene, along with Somerset Fire and Rescue as the R.I.T
Engine 253 arrived first due and stretched… an attack line into the apartment. The crew from Engine 253 was able to quickly knock the fire and contain it to the 1st floor apartment. Additional personell on the scene were Car 272, Ladder 27, Squad 27, Engine 27 and Ladder 25.
Companies who stood by and covered the Fire District were North Brunswick Co. 2, Elizabeth Avenue and South Bound Brook. The fire was extinguished without incident and all units cleared at approximately 10:24 a.m. Thank you to all those who responded and assisted.
