On Monday, November 4th, 2019 at approximately 1050 hours, Fire District #3 was dispatched to 137 Mark Street for a possible Structure Fire.
Car 273 arrived, established command and confirmed a working fire on the D-side of the structure of Apt. A. A 1st alarm assignment was requested, bringing Somerset FD and New Brunswick FD to the scene.
Ladder 25 pulled up first with Engine 27 directly behind them. A 1 and 3/4 inch attack line was pulled from the side of Engine 27. A supply line was established from the hydrant to Engine 27.
Car 27 assumed command of the incident, as crews were working together to extinguish the flames. Chief 25 took on the role of operations.
Ladder 27 and Engine 251 arrived, at which time crews checked for extension and performed overhaul. The fire was contained to the C/D corner of the structure.
Additional units on the scene were Utility 27, Somerset Rescue 56, and New Brunswick Engine 11.
Mutual Aid Companies that provided coverage for Fire District 3 were Bound Brook, Finderne, Elizabeth Avenue and Middlebush Fire Departments.
The fire was completely extinguished and overhauled within approximately one hour. The scene was turned over to Franklin Twp. Fire Prevention and remains under investigation at this time.
There were no civilian injuries to report and one FF had a minor injury to his hand. All units cleared at approximately 1221 hours.
